The United States and China have held military officials level talks aimed at managing risk between the two countries.

The US deputy assistant secretary of defense for China Michael Chase spoke with deputy director for the People's Liberation Army Office for International Military Cooperation Major General Huang Xueping.

They utilized the U.S.-PRC Defense Telephone Link to conduct a secure video conference.

Both sides agreed on the importance of maintaining open channels of communication between the two militaries.
