Digital skills, e-commerce progressing rapidly in Balochistan
June 28, 2026

The process of empowering youth in Balochistan through modern digital skills and the promotion of e-commerce is progressing at a fast pace, with several new initiatives aimed at improving employability and economic inclusion.

Under the Balochistan Socio-Economic Development Initiative, new pathways for employment are gradually opening up for young people, particularly through skill-based training programs focused on the digital economy.

In this regard, the Kharan Rifles Digital Skills initiative has established an E-Commerce and IT Center in Kharan district which serves as a dedicated training hub for students in contemporary digital tools, online business platforms, and e-commerce operations.

According to the ongoing development plan, e-commerce laboratories will be established in 150 public and private colleges across Balochistan by the end of this year while 40 such laboratories have already been completed or are in the final stages of completion in various colleges.

These e-commerce laboratories would eventually create employment opportunities for nearly 15,000 graduates annually in Balochistan.
