Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has commended the efforts of all the stakeholders for the success of the Ramadan Relief Package.
He was addressing a ceremony held in Islamabad on Monday to recognize the individuals, who demonstrated outstanding performance in the success of the Prime Minister's Ramadan Relief Package and the digital delivery of funds to the deserving people.
The Prime Minister said under the scheme, payments were made in a transparent way while upholding the dignity of the deserving people.
He said modern payment methods made money transfer possible while transfer of amount through digital wallets remained very easy and transparent.
Shehbaz Sharif said there were a lot of shortcomings in the old payment system, which were removed by adopting the modern system. He said under the programme, seventy-nine percent payments were made digitally.
The Prime Minister said the government will expand the scope of digital wallets across the country. He said provinces will also be included in the process of digital payments through an integrated system.
Shehbaz Sharif said the disbursement of payments become possible due to collective team efforts. He said we will ensure one hundred percent utilization of funds digitally next year.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister also awarded shields to the officers of public and private sector organizations in acknowledgement of their services for Ramadan Relief Package.
