Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has decided to grant FM-Radio licences for merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to provide latest transmission services to people of the area.

The decision was taken at a meeting presided over by Chairman PEMRA Muhammad Saleem Baig in Islamabad.

The meeting also finalized a policy for cable licensing in under-served areas and Internet Protocol Television policy.

Addressing the meeting, Chairman PEMRA directed to strictly prohibit Indian transmissions in the country, as their contents are harmful to our religious and social values as well as economy.

He instructed Regional Directors to ensure a ‘zero tolerance’ policy in this regard.
