US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, Zalmay Khalilzad says Washington is ready to work with Afghan government and Taliban for a reduction in violence.

In an interview, Khalilzad said, however, Taliban will not agree to a comprehensive ceasefire until there is a political settlement in the country.

Meanwhile, Taliban said they can do a reduction of violence depending on what the proposal is and the Afghan government is supportive of it too.
