The Sindh Government will soon unveil Provincial Human Rights Policy with the aim to ensure protection of the rights of people as enshrined in the 1973 Constitution of Pakistan.
This was stated by Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh on Human Rights, Surendar Valasai, while speaking at a consultative workshop organized by Provincial Human Rights Commission in Karachi.
He said the PPP government in the province is also addressing the issues faced by transgender community on priority basis.
The Special Assistant emphasized the proper resolution of the genuine cases pertaining to forced conversions.
During the workshop, Barrister Rida Tahir presented technical input on the draft of Sindh Human Rights Policy and Sindh Child Protection Policy.
She informed the participants that Child Protection Policy is aimed at streamlining all interventions and making all areas of operations safe for all children.
The other speakers stressed on the need of evolving a mechanism to face the challenges and monitoring of human rights violations in the province.
