The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has stressed that permanent peace in South Asia hinges upon the resolution and just settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

In a statement in Srinagar, APHC spokesman Abdul Rashid Minhas expressed the hope that the UN Secretary General, and world community would pressure India to end human rights violations, illegal detentions, use of force and aggression against the defenseless Kashmiris.

He urged India to withdraw its forces from Jammu and Kashmir, release all Kashmiri political prisoners and engage in meaningful dialogue to resolve the Kashmir dispute.
