Pharmaceutical companies have restarted production of paracetamol products after reaching an agreement with the government.

A meeting in this regard was held between Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and heads of pharmaceutical companies in Islamabad on Wednesday. 

The meeting reviewed the maximum retail price and shortage of paracetamol products in the country and discussed modalities for smooth supply and availability of the medicine in the markets on affordable rates.

In order to resolve the issue of shortage of paracetamol products and to support local manufacturers, it was agreed that plain 500mg, Extra 500mg and liquid paracetamol will be available at the rate of 2.35 rupees, 2.75 rupees and 117.6 rupees respectively.
