Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan's full support for Global Development Initiative.

He was speaking at the high-level meeting on the Global Development Initiative (GDI), hosted by Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, in New York.

The Prime Minister said it is an important platform for solidarity, South-South Cooperation and the delivery of concrete results for the developing countries.

Shehbaz Sharif said the goals of Global Development Initiative also complement our own national economic transformation plan.

He mentioned that Pakistan's cooperation with China also continues through the Belt and Road Initiative and its flagship project, the CPEC. He said the CPEC is now entering into its second phase.

The Prime Minister said the GDI also remains essential for accelerating progress on the 2030 agenda.  He said Pakistan looks forward to continued close cooperation with Iron Brother China and fellow members of the Group of Friends to advance the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind.
