The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Quetta, has foiled a major attempt to smuggle gold through the border regions of Balochistan, seizing 6.162 kilograms of gold bars with an estimated value of approximately Rs.250 million.

The seizure was made by staff of the Field Enforcement Unit in Sheela Bagh, with the active assistance and support of the Frontier Corps.

Acting on intelligence and maintaining heightened vigilance in the area, enforcement personnel intercepted the suspected smuggling attempt and recovered the gold bars.

The operation is part of the Collectorate’s intelligence-based, intensified anti-smuggling campaign, which is being carried out across major highways, Field Enforcement Units, entry and exit points, and sensitive smuggling corridors in Balochistan.

Enhanced vigilance at FEU Sheela Bagh, coupled with close coordination between Pakistan Customs and the Frontier Corps, enabled the timely interception of the consignment.

Following the seizure, the recovered gold was deposited at the State Warehouse in Quetta in accordance with prescribed procedures. An FIR has also been lodged, and further legal proceedings are underway.
