Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has constituted an inquiry committee to conduct a high-level investigation into the fire incident at PIMS Hospital, Islamabad, which resulted in the deaths of fourteen newborn babies. 

Former Interior Secretary Shahid Khan will head the committee. 

Chairing an emergency meeting in Islamabad today, the Prime Minister expressed his deep indignation over the fire incident and ordered the strictest possible action. 

The Prime Minister suspended the Federal Secretary of Health and directed him to leave the meeting.

Shehbaz Sharif expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. He said our hearts are deeply grieved by this tragic incident, and that we share the grief of the parents.
