Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed Pakistan's strong support for the United Nations and effective multilateralism.

He expressed these views during a telephonic conversation with Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Mariano Grossi, today.

During the conversation, both sides exchanged views on the latest regional developments and underscored the importance of continued diplomacy, dialogue, and constructive engagement in advancing regional and international peace and stability.

The IAEA Director General expressed hope that the parties would sustain dialogue and engagement following the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, with a view to achieving a peaceful and durable outcome.

He also briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on his candidacy for the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations.
