
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan this evening on the auspicious occasion of Eid ul-Adha.
During their warm and cordial conversation, the Prime Minister conveyed Eid ul-Adha greetings to the Turkish leadership and the brotherly people of Türkiye, which were warmly reciprocated by President Tayyip Erdoğan.
Recalling their frequent engagements, including their most recent meeting in Antalya last April, the two leaders reaffirmed that the historic and time-tested fraternal bonds between Türkiye and Pakistan have been further strengthened.
Both leaders agreed to fast-track the implementation of key decisions taken during their recent high-level meetings, with a focus on accelerating bilateral cooperation in trade and investment.
They also exchanged views on ongoing regional peace efforts.
The Prime Minister thanked President Tayyip Erdoğan for Türkiye’s strong and consistent support for the Pakistan-led peace initiative.
The two leaders also agreed to continue working closely to promote peace in the region through dialogue, stability and de-escalation.
In his remarks, President Tayyip Erdoğan expressed deep condolences over the tragic train bombing incident in Balochistan on 24th of this month, and assured that Türkiye would always stand with Pakistan in combating terrorism.
The Prime Minister thanked the Turkish President for his expression of solidarity and sympathy and said that Pakistan will continue to combat terrorism in all its manifestations.
