Lahore has been declared as the ECO Tourism Capital for 2027. 

This was announced at the sixth Meeting of Tourism Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization held in Erzurum, Turkiye on Saturday.

Among the contenders for the coveted title were Turkmenistan city of Mary and Karakol of Kyrgyzstan.

Lahore's selection is seen as a significant step in promoting the city's cultural and historical heritage globally.

Meanwhile, in a message on social media platform X, the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said Lahore is ready to welcome the world and shine on the global stage.

She expressed heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to all ECO nations for their trust and support.
