In Philippine, thousands of people were ordered to evacuate their homes near a volcano on Saturday, after an eruption sent ash and steam hundreds of metres into the sky.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology in a statement warned that further eruptions are possible which can trigger dangerous, fast-moving volcanic flows of gas, ash and debris, as well as a tsunami.
