UK-based weekly magazine the Economist has expressed concerns over lack of impartiality and independence of India's Supreme Court. 

In its fresh report, the magazine examined the Indian top Court’s rulings in the revocation of Jammu and Kashmir's special status and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's acquittal in Gujarat riots case. 

The report underscored the Supreme Court's reluctance to challenge BJP policies and instead appeared aligned to the government's agenda.
