National Command Authority meeting on Wednesday: FM

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said Pakistan will respond to Indian aggression at time and place of its own choosing.

Briefing media about National Security Committee meeting in Islamabad along with Defence Minister Pervez Khattak and Finance Minister Asad Umar on Tuesday afternoon, he said India has committed uncalled for aggression and the Prime Minister has directed all elements of national power including the Armed Forces and the people of Pakistan to remain prepared for all eventualities. The meeting also decided to engage with global leadership to expose irresponsible Indian policy in the region.

He said Prime Minister appreciated timely and effective response of PAF to repulse Indian attack without any loss to life and property.

Briefing the media about National Security Committee meeting along with Defense Minister Pervez Khattak and Finance Minister Asad Umar on Tuesday afternoon, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said India has committed uncalled for aggression and the Prime Minister has directed all elements of national power including the Armed Forces and the people of Pakistan to remain prepared for all eventualities.   

Foreign Minister said Pakistan will respond to Indian aggression at time and place of its own choice.

He said the meeting also decided to engage with global leadership to expose irresponsible Indian policy in the region.

He said Prime Minister appreciated timely and effective response of PAF to repulse Indian attack without any loss to life and property. 

The Foreign Minister said the meeting decided that National Command Authority meeting be convened tomorrow. The meeting decided that joint session of parliament will also be convened on this issue.

The National Security Committee meeting constituted a committee comprising Ministers of Defence, Finance and Foreign Affairs to contact parliamentary leadership in order to take them into confidence on this evolving situation.

The meeting decided that local and international media will be taken to the site of attack so they could inspect themselves and expose the Indian propaganda.

It has also been decided that the United Nations Military Observers Group in India and Pakistan be also taken to the site.

The meeting decided to engage international media and brief it on the evolving situation.

The Foreign Minister said he talked to Turkish Foreign Minister today and briefed him about the Indian aggression.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Prime Minister Imran Khan  also had telephonic conversations with UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Zayed and as well as Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman over the issue.

He said an emergency meeting of OIC Group in Jeddah is also underway and Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua is representing Pakistan there.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said he conveyed Pakistan's viewpoint and concerns on invitation to Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj as Guest of Honor at an important upcoming meeting of OIC in UAE.

The Foreign Minister said Prime Minister's offer of engagement and cooperation to India on 21st of this month was made with all sincerity. But it was not reciprocated in kind.  

Replying to a question, the Foreign Minister said Indian jets entered into Pakistani territory at 2.55 am and they left at 2.58 am as soon as the Pakistan Airforce fighter jets were scrambled. 

Replying to another question, he said Indian politicians are endangering the regional peace due to their election compulsions.

Speaking on the occasion, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak said a befitting response will be given to Indian aggression.
