Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ghulam Ali has proposed 8th October to Election Commission for holding general elections in the province.

In a letter written by Ghulam Ali to Election Commission of Pakistan, he pointed delaying the polls due to deteriorated security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He also highlighted the recent incidents of terrorism, including the cross-border firing that took place in South Waziristan.

Earlier, the Governor had announced 28th May as a date for elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
