Pakistan has called for equitable and non-discriminatory access to peaceful nuclear technology.

The remarks were made by Counsellor at Pakistan's Permanent Mission to the UN, Syed Atif Raza, while speaking during the UN General Assembly Plenary discussion on the report of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

He stressed that non-proliferation objectives must be pursued without impeding international cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology.

The Counsellor reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to strengthen its partnership with the IAEA and other Member States to advance the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and realize shared objectives of peace, development and international cooperation.
