On UN Day, dispute over IIOJ&K awaits implementation of World body’s resolutions

When the United Nations Day is being observed worldwide, today, the dispute over Jammu and Kashmir, awaits the implementation of the world body’s resolutions to hold free and fair plebiscite in the territory.

According to a report of Kashmir Media Service, India continues to flout Security Council resolutions on Kashmir. The report deplored that Indian troops in their unabated acts of state terrorism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir had killed 95,894 people since January 1989 till date. The United Nations resolutions reaffirm Kashmiris’ right for a free and fair referendum.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference urged Kashmiris to observe complete strike on October 27 to convey the world that they want an immediate end to Indian occupation of their homeland.They also expressed deep concern over the incessant increase in the deployment of additional troops in the territory by India.

Meanwhile, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two more Kashmiri in Poonch and Shopian districts, today. Thousands of people thronged the house of the martyred youth and demanded their bodies for funeral and proper burial.

People’s Democratic Party President, Mehbooba Mufti, reacting to the remarks by India’s Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, said that “repression” was the India's only method to deal with situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

The 74th Founding Day of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is being celebrated today with a renewed pledge to continue the struggle until freedom and accession of the whole territory to Pakistan.
