Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering commitment to the "Shanghai Spirit" and to advancing cooperation, connectivity and shared growth among SCO Member States.

He expressed this resolve while addressing the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers' Meeting Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic today.

He thanked the Kyrgyz leadership and Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev for their warm hospitality and excellent arrangements in hosting the SCO CFM.

Ishaq Dar extended felicitations on the SCO's 25th anniversary and highlighted the Organization's important work for regional peace, security, prosperity and sustainable development.

He highlighted Pakistan's diplomatic efforts for regional peace, including the Islamabad Talks and the subsequent Islamabad MoU, which reflected Pakistan's commitment to dialogue and diplomacy. He thanked his counterparts for their recognition and appreciation of Pakistan's sincere efforts to promote peace and stability in the region and beyond.

The Deputy Prime Minister conveyed Pakistan's readiness to assume the Chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State (CHS) in September this year and to welcome all SCO Member States to Pakistan for the CHS Summit next year.
