The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is set to deliver a ruling today, on South Africa’s request to order a halt to Israel’s offensive on Rafah.

The ICJ had previously issued provisional measures in January, directing Israel to take steps to alleviate humanitarian suffering in Gaza.  

However, South Africa, in hearings last week, had asked the ICJ for additional measures specifically aimed at halting the ongoing offensive in Rafah where over a million displaced Palestinians have sought refuge.
