Security Forces foil terrorist attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi

Prime Minister Imran Khan has strongly condemned the incident of firing outside the Chinese Consulate in Karachi on Friday.

The Prime Minister has ordered a complete inquiry into the incident and has desired that elements behind this incident must be unearthed.

He said the incident is part of conspiracy against Pak and China economic and strategic cooperation.

The Prime Minister however, said such incidents will never be able to undermine Pak China relationship that is mightier than Himalaya and deeper than Arabian sea.

Imran Khan said Karachi police and Rangers have shown exceptional courage and Nation salutes the martyrs and their colleagues for acting so vigilantly, their gallantry is something we are proud of.

 

Forces behind attack want to damage Pak-China relations: Qureshi

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Hussain Qureshi said the forces behind Friday's terrorist attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi want to damage the Pak-China relations but our security forces foiled their bid killing three terrorists on the spot.

Talking to media outside Parliament house in Islamabad, he said we are aware about the ill intentions of these forces that are not happy with peace and stability in Pakistan.

He said the cowardly terrorist attack on the Chinese consulate will thoroughly be investigated and all the stakeholders will be taken into confidence about the outcome.

Shah Mahmood Hussain Qureshi our first priority was to ensure the security of the Chinese staff at the consulate in which we have been successful.

He said we are in touch with the Chinese Ambassador and Consulate General and all the information about the incident will be shared with them.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain says Pakistan and China know well the conspiracy behind the attack on Chinese Consulate and will jointly foil these incidents.

Talking to media in Islamabad, he said such type of cowardly acts cannot affect the Pak-China everlasting friendship.

The Information Minister said this attack was a targeted attack on defence and economic ties between Pakistan and China.

He said Pakistan combated the menace of terrorism with resilience and set a great precedent in the world.

He said the journey of Pakistan's development will continue under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and the dastardly attacks cannot create hurdle in the way of progress and prosperity.  

The Minister added that all three terrorists involved in this attack have been killed.

He said nation is proud of the effective action of police and rangers. The Minister said terrorists chose this day due to great rush of people in the consulate.

 

 

Security Forces foil terrorist attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi

Earlier, the Security forces foiled a terrorist attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi on Friday morning killing three terrorists while two Police personnel also embraced martyrdom.

According to the police sources all the staff of Chinese Consulate remained safe in the incident.

The security of Chinese Consulate and other sensitive installations has been tightened and the situation is now under control.

Clearance operation is underway.

Talking to our Karachi correspondent Altaf Pirzado on phone SSP south Karachi Pir Mohammad Shah said terrorists who fired at Chinese Consulate has been engaged by police and their effort to enter into the consulate has been foiled.

Meanwhile, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has also taken notice of the incident and has sought a report from IG Sindh in this regard.

Defense Minister Pervez Khattak has condemned the terrorist attack in Karachi which targeted the Chinese Consulate in the city.

In a statement, the Minister said whole Pakistani nation stands by its law enforcing agencies to protect the country.

Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri have condemned terrorist attack at Chinese consulate in Karachi.

In their separate statements on Friday, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker termed the terrorist attack at Chinese consulate as a cowardly and shameful act of terrorism.  

They said elements involved in such activities are enemies of the country and wanted to sabotage exemplary friendship between Pakistan and China and peace of the country.

They said such shameful acts cannot deter our firm resolve against terrorism.

Both the leaders appreciated the quick response of the law enforcing agencies to foil the terrorist attack at Chinese Consulate.

Defense Minister Pervez Khattak has also condemned the terrorist attack at Chinese Consulate in Karachi.

In a statement, Defence Minister said whole Pakistani nation stands by its law enforcing agencies to protect the country.
