Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the relevant authorities to ensure wheat cultivation on all government-owned land across the province.

Chairing a meeting in Lahore today, she also ordered strict monitoring of inter-provincial borders to prevent smuggling of wheat and flour.

A detailed report on fluctuation in the prices of essential commodities was also presented during the meeting. The meeting was informed that prices of ten essential items had registered a declining trend.
