The 22nd death anniversary of eminent Urdu poet and broadcaster Tabish Dehlvi is being observed today (Wednesday).

He is regarded as one of the classical poets of Urdu literature.

Tabish Dehlvi began his career as a newsreader with All India Radio in 1941 under the name Masood Tabish. After the partition, he continued his association with broadcasting and joined Radio Pakistan.

He passed away on this day in 2004 in Karachi.
