Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has expressed grief and sorrow over the death of senior journalist Mazhar Iqbal in a road accident.

Extending his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, he prayed for the departed soul.

He said Mazhar Iqbal played a prominent role in promoting press freedom and democratic values. 

The Minister said Mazhar Iqbal was known as a journalist who never compromised on journalistic standards and principles.
