The United Nations has reiterated the urgent need to protect displaced Palestinian families in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said intensified Israeli military operations have created dire living conditions for people sheltering in Gaza.

The office stressed the urgent need for sustained access to essential materials, including safe and weather-resistant shelter, before winter.
