Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain launched National Emigration and Welfare Policy 2026 in Islamabad today.

Speaking on the occasion, he described the policy as a significant milestone in strengthening Pakistan's governance to labour migration.

He said this policy is our national commitment to every Pakistani who leaves home in pursuit of opportunity and determined to build a better future while contributing to the nation's prosperity.

Chaudhry Salik Hussain said the policy aims to equipping the people with relevant skills and providing them protection and support they need to compete in an evolving global market. He said the success of this policy will depend on close collaboration amongst different stakeholders including the federal and provincial governments. 

The Federal Minister mentioned that about twelve million Pakistanis are living and working across the world. He said they sent around forty-one billion dollars in remittances in the last financial year.
