July 23, 2026

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed a Chinese company's plan to transform Pakistan's grain storage facilities into state-of-the-art centers.

He was talking to a delegation led by Chief Executive Officer of the Chinese company FAMSUN Jack Chen, which called on him in Islamabad today.

The Prime Minister said the initiative will introduce advanced technology to Pakistan's agriculture sector and promote commercial activities across the country.

Welcoming the delegation, Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan and China are exemplary friends whose economic partnership and bilateral ties continue to grow stronger with time. He said business-to-business cooperation between the two countries will further strengthen this enduring friendship.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that the development of Pakistan's human resources through skills training should be an integral part of such projects.

Speaking on the occasion, Jack Chen thanked the Prime Minister and the Government of Pakistan for the warm hospitality extended to the delegation.

He recalled his recent meeting with the Prime Minister during the latter's visit to China, saying it had led to the company's visit to Pakistan for discussions on a practical initiative aimed at enhancing food security.

Jack Chen said FAMSUN is keen to support Pakistan's food security efforts by developing modern grain storage facilities, facilitating technology transfer, and providing training.

FAMSUN is among China's leading companies specializing in agriculture, animal feed, and food processing.
