The Pentagon has confirmed the recent overnight air strikes by US Air Force against the Taliban in order to support Afghan army.

At a press conference, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said that the withdrawal of international forces from the country is almost complete.

He vowed to continue airstrikes against the Taliban in support of the Afghan forces upon approval of US Army Central Command.

He reiterated the statement of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin that the US stays committed to help Afghan security forces.
