Former Director News Radio Pakistan Abdul Hameed, who died in Rawalpindi on Monday, was laid to rest at his native village Punjdhera in Chakwal District.

A large number of people, including prominent figures of the area, Director News and Current Affairs Abdul Rauf Khan, former and serving officers and employees of News wing, offered funeral prayers.

Abdul Hameed was 74.

He served in different sections of News Wing.

Abdul Hameed headed Reporting section for a long time. He also headed News Wing for a year from 2007 to 2008.
