Pakistan and Libya have expressed interest in further strengthening their friendly ties across diverse fields, particularly trade, education, and business-to-business exchanges.

The interest was expressed at a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Libya Al-Taher Al Baour on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the UNGA in New York.

The two sides exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the evolving situation in the Middle East. They discussed the implications for regional peace, energy supplies, and the global economy, particularly for developing countries.

The Libyan Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic efforts for regional peace and stability.

The Deputy Prime Minister underscored that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable means of addressing regional challenges and stressed the need for all parties to return to the Islamabad MoU for advancing regional stability.
