A meeting chaired by Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani, in Islamabad today decided to accelerate the awareness campaign regarding the Simplified Tax Scheme for shopkeepers.

The meeting was briefed that lists of local traders’ representatives have been received for joint visits to markets by FBR officials and trader representatives.

The Minister of State directed that information about the Simplified Tax Scheme should be communicated to every shopkeeper with the help of trader representatives.

He said that by acting on the traders’ demands, the government fulfilled its commitment, and that shopkeepers must now make the scheme a success.

The primary objective of the scheme is to expand the tax base while facilitating shopkeepers.
