Dr. Rasheed Ahmad Khan (IR Expert):Visit of Malaysian Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution to Pakistan is very important and timely as it is taking place in the context of serious regional and international developments on various fronts. During this crucial visit, both Pakistan and Malaysia have reaffirmed commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations. Visit has provided both Pakistan and Malaysia to discuss cooperation in counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, illegal immigration and the prevention of cybercrimes. During his meetings with Pakistani leaders, he discussed cooperation in the fields of coast guards and training programmes. It provided both the countries to hold talks on other issues of mutual interests of both the countries. Counter terrorism, smuggling and human trafficking are core issues for both Pakistan and Malaysia. Both the countries can further enhance cooperation in diverse sectors; Malaysia is very important trade partner of Pakistan. Malaysia can also play key role in Pakistan’s trade and economic cooperation with other East and South East Asian countries.
