The All Parties Hurriyat Conference says India has turned occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a killing field, where Indian forces are subjecting Kashmiris to widespread reprisals for resisting its illegal occupation.

In a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC urged the international community to end its criminal silence and hold India accountable for the grave crimes against humanity being committed in the occupied territory.

Meanwhile, people continue to live under an atmosphere of fear and intimidation due to the enforcement of draconian laws and the violent cordon and search operations carried out by Indian forces.

The fear prevails across towns, cities and villages of the occupied territory, where Indian troops and agencies continue to conduct cordon and search operations, raid residential houses and harass civilians.

Residents from several areas told journalists that the relentless military operations have made their lives miserable.

They said Indian troops and police personnel routinely barge into homes, intimidate residents and vandalize property.

On the other hand, Indian police have also arrested several Congress leaders and activists in Srinagar and Jammu while they were protesting against the BJP-led Indian government.
