Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin says the national economy is witnessing five to six percent growth and soon the prices of essential commodities would reduce.

Talking to media in Peshawar, he said the government is giving targeted subsidies to masses under Ehsaas Rashan Card to provide respite from inflation.

The Advisor said the price-hike is a global phenomenon as the corona pandemic has affected the economies of even developed countries across the world.

He said petroleum prices have increased worldwide which also affected price of petroleum products in Pakistan.

Regarding gas load shedding, Shaukat Tarin said more reservoirs of gas are being explored to provide uninterrupted gas supply to commercial and domestic consumers.
