August 21, 2026

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have paid tribute to all those who lost their lives to terrorism and called on the nation to stand with those who continue to bear the consequences of terrorism.

In their separate messages on the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism being observed today, they called upon all relevant institutions at the global, national, collective and individual levels to raise their voices against terrorism.

The President said we should responsibly harness technology to make information, assistance and rehabilitation services more accessible to victims and their families.

He said supporting victims of terrorism is not an act of charity but it is a matter of justice, human dignity and national responsibility.

The Prime Minister said physical, psychological and social rehabilitation of victims of terrorism is also part of our shared global responsibility.

He said that Pakistan has a comprehensive support system in place for martyrs, their families and victims of terrorism.
