Pakistan has reaffirmed its unwavering resolve to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
In a statement issued on the International Day of Remembrance of and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, the Foreign Office said Pakistan has rendered unprecedented sacrifices in the fight against the menace.
The statement said over ninety thousand Pakistanis have lost their lives and the country has suffered economic losses exceeding one hundred and fifty billion dollars in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
It said terrorism has become increasingly multifaceted, with terrorists exploiting emerging technologies and cyberspace to facilitate sophisticated and lethal attacks.
The statement said Pakistan is also a victim of disinformation and misinformation campaigns, hydro-terrorism and extraterritorial assassination campaigns.
The Foreign Office noted that 2025 was among the deadliest years Pakistan had faced in over a decade, adding that violence was being planned, financed and directed from sanctuaries across the border, often with the support of hostile elements from neighboring countries.
It said Pakistan remains steadfast in its commitment to defeating terrorism despite these challenges.
The Foreign Office also expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people as they continue to face systematic repression, enforced disappearances and arbitrary detentions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
It also voiced concern over the continued suffering of the Palestinian people, particularly children, women and elderly persons, despite ceasefire efforts and diplomatic initiatives.
The statement stressed that foreign occupation, unresolved conflicts and denial of the right to self-determination can be exploited by extremists and terrorists, necessitating urgent resolution of such issues.
Pakistan called upon the international community to support victims and survivors of terrorism without discrimination and enhance international cooperation and dialogue on the basis of objectivity, impartiality, consistency and equity, without double standards, to promote a peaceful world for future generations.
