
Punjab Minister for Minorities Ramesh Singh Arora has said that the provincial Government has presented a balanced and people-centric budget for the fiscal year 2026-27.
In an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan's correspondent Qasim Bukhari regarding the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, he said the budget, unveiled despite challenging global economic conditions, reflects the government's unwavering commitment to public welfare and inclusive development.
He said that special emphasis has been placed on the health and education sectors and their budgetary allocations have not been reduced. He said that the budget also accords priority to the transport and social protection sectors.
Ramesh Singh Arora said that the welfare of minorities remains a top priority of the Punjab Government. Under the CM Minority Development Programme, several projects worth four billion rupees have been proposed during the fiscal year 2026-27 to provide better facilities and improve the living standards of minority communities.
The Minister said that five billion rupees have been allocated for the restoration and conservation of religious places of worship.
Speaking about the Digital Punjab and Digital Punjab Assembly initiatives, Punjab Minister for Minorities Ramesh Singh Arora appreciated Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan for promoting the digitalization of assembly business, saying that digital transformation would help foster a green and paperless culture.
