Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated today across the country with religious zeal and fervour.
Eid congregations were held at open places, mosques and Eidgahs.
Ulema, in their sermons, highlighted the significance and philosophy of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Special prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of the country and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
Strict security arrangements have been put in place on Eid-ul-Fitr across the country.
In Lahore, Eid day dawned with special prayers at mosques after Fajar prayer, for the strength of the country, national unity, and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
In the Provincial Capital, a large number of Eid prayer congregations were held at mosques, Eidgahs and open places. The largest congregation was held at the historical Badshahi Mosque.
To avoid any untoward incident, a fool proof security plan is in place by Punjab Police and more than forty seven thousand Police staff and officers have been deputed to ensure security across the province.
Due to the current security situation, personnel deputed at Inter Provincial Border posts are on high alert as well.
In Karachi, around five hundred big and small Eid congregations were held in different parts of the city.
Governor Sindh Nehal Hashmi offered Eid prayer at Governor House in Karachi.
The largest Eid congregation was held at Polo Ground where diplomats from various Islamic countries, members of the National and Provincial Assemblies and a large number of dignitaries of the city offered Eid prayers.
The Government has made fool proof security arrangements for Eid-ul-Fitr to provide a safe environment for celebrations.
In Peshawar, the main congregation was held at the Eidgah of the city.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi offered Eid prayers at Governor House in Peshawar.
Special prayers were offered for security, peace and prosperity of the country, unity of Muslim Ummah and liberation of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.
After Eid prayers, the Governor exchanged Eid greetings with people at the mosque.
Meanwhile, the government has made strict security measures to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the province.
In Quetta, more than two hundred Eid prayer congregations were held at parks, mosques, Imambargahs and Eidgahs.
The main congregation was held at Eidgah Toghi Road Quetta.
Governor Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhail offered Eid prayer in Quetta while Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti offered Eid prayer in his native town Bekarh Dera Bugti.
Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that provincial government is taking practical steps to ensure public welfare, social protection, and prosperity.
Talking to the tribal elders, notables and general public, after offering Eid prayer in Dera Bugti, he reaffirmed government’s commitment to establishing lasting peace and stability in the province.
He stressed that promoting harmony, tolerance, and unity is essential for building a strong, stable, and prosperous society.
He also said that with public support, the pace of development would be further accelerated.
The tribal elders appreciated the government’s efforts, particularly development initiatives in their areas.
In Gilgit Baltistan, Eid congregations were held at open places, mosques and Eidgahs in all districts of the region where a large number of people offered Eid prayers.
On the occasion, the religious scholars highlighted the significance and philosophy of Eid-ul-Fitr. Special prayers were also offered for the progress and prosperity of the country.
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Eid congregations were held at open places, mosques, Imambargahs and Eidgahs in all major cities of the state.
In the state capital Muzaffarabad, the main Eid congregation was held at Central Eidgah Muzaffarabad where Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore offered Eid prayer.
Later he exchanged Eid greetings with people.
AJK Acting President Chaudhry Latif Akbar also offered Eid Prayer in Muzaffarabad.
