The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has urged Lebanese leaders to forge unity among their ranks and express solidarity with the people.

Addressing a press conference along with Lebanese President Michel Aoun in Beirut, he sought the imposition of reforms to steer out the country from a worst financial depression and social crisis.

He said that he was in the country to discuss the best ways to support the Lebanese people to overcome the current economic and financial crisis and promote peace, stability and sustainable development.
