Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has said the government is making all-out efforts to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply to the public despite severe resource constraints and a sharp surge in international oil prices.
Talking to the media in Lahore today, he said 30 billion rupees to 40 billion rupees have been redirected toward vulnerable segments, while 180 million rupees was released in a single day to petrol pumps under the relief mechanism.
He said payments have been disbursed across 7,400 petrol pumps nationwide to facilitate over 2 million registered citizens.
Regarding approaching winter energy needs, he said the government is carefully managing LNG availability to prevent shortages.
