Li desires to work with Imran to boost bilateral ties

Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang has expressed desire to work closely with Prime Minister Imran Khan to further strengthen Pakistan-China relations.

He was talking to the Prime Minister telephonically to felicitate him on his party's victory in general elections and forming new government.

The Chinese Prime Minister hoped that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will be completed as per schedule.

He also extended an invitation to Imran Khan to visit China.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said Pakistan and China are close friends and strong partners.

He said the strategic cooperative partnership between Pakistan and China will be further strengthened during PTI's government.

The Prime Minister conveyed that he is keen to learn from Chinese experience in poverty alleviation, anti-corruption and social sector reforms like health and education.

The Prime Minister said CPEC is a project of national significance and will remain a priority during his government. 

The Prime Minister vowed to continue to closely coordinate with China on all regional and international issues of mutual concern.

He thanked the Chinese Premier for his invitation and said he is eagerly looking forward to his first visit to China.

The Prime Minister also extended an invitation to Premier Li Keqiang to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience.
