Political leaders of Azad Jammu and Kashmir have rejected the propaganda of the outlawed Joint Awami Action Committee and reaffirmed their resolve to counter it and stand with Pakistan and its armed forces.

Addressing a joint news conference in Islamabad today, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader from Azad Kashmir, Shah Ghulam Qadir, said members of the banned Action Committee have rapidly changed their narrative from demanding subsidized basic facilities to an anti-Pakistan and anti-army stance, thereby exposing their true colours.

They said the propaganda and violent situation in Rawlakot has clearly exposed the nefarious designs and narrative of the banned committee, necessitating an intervention by forces.

They said Pakistan and its security forces exercised utmost restraint during the situation and helped prevent it from escalating.

These leaders further said the movement of banned Action Committee not only played with the sentiments of innocent Kashmiri people, but also attempted to weaken the ideological bond between the people of Kashmir and Pakistan.

Reaffirming their stance, the AJK leaders expressed full solidarity with Pakistan, its Constitution, and its armed forces.

In his remarks, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader from Azad Kashmir, Shah Ghulam Qadir, said the actions of the banned committee in Rawalakot and the speeches of its leaders were highly disturbing.

He said while political differences are part of the democratic process, these actions were a clear example of treason.

President of the Muslim Conference, Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, said the situation had caused losses of over three billion rupees and resulted in the deaths of around seventeen people.

He demanded stern action and punishment for those involved in the destruction of public and private property and the loss of lives.

Pakistan Peoples Party leader Nabila Ayoub Khan and Colonel (Retired) Sheeraz Ahmad also addressed the press conference.

During the briefing, a video of speeches and actions of the banned Action Committee was also screened, which, according to the speakers, exposed disloyalty and nefarious narrative of the banned Joint Action  Committee.
