Pakistan and Maldives has expressed shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations in all areas of mutual interest.

The commitment has been expressed during a meeting between National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq with Maldivian Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef in Male. 

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq underscored the longstanding, close and cordial relations between Pakistan and the Maldives, based on shared religion, and strong people-to-people linkages.

Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef commended Pakistan's role for regional peace and stability. He highlighted the significant potential for expanding cooperation in key areas, including tourism and higher education.

Both leaders called for enhanced cooperation to strengthen climate resilience through joint initiatives.
