
The 68th death anniversary of famous Pakistani politician and father of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto was observed today.
Shah Nawaz Bhutto served as a representative of Sindh in the Bombay Legislative Council from 1921 until its provincehood in 1936.
In 1931, he represented the Muslims of Sindh at the Round Table Conference held in London, where he eloquently raised the demand for the separation of Sindh from Bombay.
In 1947, he was appointed Prime Minister of Junagadh, but returned home after India occupied the state in the same year.
After the creation of Pakistan in 1947, he continued to play an influential role in regional politics. He died on this day in 1957.
