Global concerns are growing over the spread of terrorism and drug smuggling from Afghanistan under the Taliban regime.

According to the US-based publication Eurasia Review, the security situation in Afghanistan continues to be a source of concern for neighbouring countries. Tajikistan faces threats linked to cross-border infiltration, extremism, drug smuggling and other illicit activities originating from Afghanistan.
