Business circles in Azad Jammu and Kashmir have started feeling the impact of the disruptive agenda of the proscribed Action Committee, with its activities causing economic losses to local businesses.

The committee, formed in the name of public rights, is increasingly being exposed due to its disruptive activities. Its actions are also affecting peace and economic activity in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials of the Goods Forward Union said the proscribed Action Committee subjected truck drivers to violence and harassment.

Union leaders said miscreants belonging to the proscribed committee siphoned diesel from trucks and also snatched goods from drivers.

They said all transport terminals that were shut down had been closed voluntarily by people due to fear of being looted.

The union leaders said that despite trucks being loaded with goods, drivers are unwilling to move forward because of security concerns.

They urged security institutions to ensure the safe return of their fellow drivers and provide them with protection.

They said business activities have been paralyzed by the so-called protest, and traders in Azad Kashmir have become frustrated with the activities of the proscribed committee.
