Dr. Mujahid Gilani (Senior Kashmiri Leader): Long before 14 August 1947, people of Jammu and Kashmir had voted in favour of Pakistan even before the division of Sub-Continent. They gave their decision over vehemently to become to join Pakistan as its Muslim majority province. In the backdrop of global situation, we must realize that people of Jammu and Kashmir are struggling for maintaining their lives. Their ratio of population in Jammu and Kashmir which was over 98 % in 1947 has been reduced and it is around 69%. The world has promised to Kashmiris to resolve Kashmir dispute through right to self-determination, Kashmiris are struggling to join Pakistan if they are granted right to self-determination. But over past ten years, BJP’s Hindutva goon Indian forces have started targeting Kashmiri population through population terrorism by settling non-Kashmiris to Jammu and Kashmir valley to change the demography of the region. Through this population terrorism, BJP wants to change Muslim majority into Hindutva majority. So far as accord between Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir with India is concerned, it is clear that Maharaja was not authorized this accord. Moreover, Jawahar Lal Nehru also admitted at the UN that India did not acknowledge the pact and would grant right to self-determination to Kashmiris to resolve this issue. Now we need to present the historical facts before the world to sensitize the world about the intensity of Indian atrocities against innocent Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Besides Jammu and Kashmir India also occupied Ferozpur, Junagarh, Gurdaspur, Hoshiyarpur and other Muslim majority areas unjustifiably. Even today, India believes that Kashmiris don’t align with India despite the passage of over seven and half decades of Indian occupation.

Mushtaq Hussain Gilani (Senior Kashmiri Leader): It is part of bitter history that the Dogra Raj and British India regimes did not allowed Kashmiri leadership to hold meeting with Father of the Nation Quaid i Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah before the creation of Pakistan. However, Kashmiris are hopeful of wining freedom from India because Pakistan is their staunch supporter in this just struggle. This reality has now become clear to everyone from Pakistan’s victory over India in operation Bunyan um Marsoos that world allies with the powerful and mighty. Therefore, I am convinced that Kashmir issue will be resolved through force alone. However, we must not close options of diplomacy so that Kashmir dispute may be resolved through talks, but from Indian mindset it is not possible that India will ever think to resolve this issue peacefully through dialogue.
