Pakistan and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank have signed a loan agreement worth 320 million dollars for the rehabilitation of the N-5 Highway project.

Secretary Economic Affairs Muhammad Humair Karim and Chief Investment Officer of the bank signed the agreement in Islamabad today in presence of Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema.

Speaking on the occasion, Ahad Cheema said the rehabilitation project will further strengthen transport connectivity across Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said the project will help strengthen Pakistan’s sustainable infrastructure and marks a new milestone in cooperation between Pakistan and the AIIB.
